Hall

Armedie “Army” Hall 82, passed away Saturday September 9, 2006 at her residence in Odessa.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday in the Frank Wilson Funeral Chapel with Jeff Sweeten officiating. Burial will follow in Rankin Cemetery in Rankin, Texas.
Army was born in South Bend, Texas on September 23, 1923 to Samuel Lafette and Claira (Gibony) Huffman. She married Elton Hall in Rankin, Texas on May 15, 1942. She was a member of the Eisenhower Church of Christ.
Armedie is survived by her husband Elton Hall of Odessa; sons Donnie Hall and wife Peggy of Houston, Jimmie Hall and wife Laura of Albuquerque, NM; cousins Lester and Jane Titsworth of Stanton, Dean and Sheila Titsworth of Rankin; Brothers Carl Lafette Huffman of McCamey, Calvin Travis “C.T.” Huffman of Odessa, Dulyn Burt Huffman of Gardendale, sister Ovella Cooper of McCamey; grandchildren Bryan Hall of Houston and Sarah Hall of Houston, Elizabeth Pittman and husband Cory of Candian; special friends Ruby Foote, Linda Weatherly, Jo Daniel, Kim Snell and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the Hospice Staff: Judy Price, Kelly Gutierez, Christie Moia, Donna Sledge, Don McLarey, Robin Davis, Emmett Banard and Emery Mansour.

Haenelt

Gary Patrick Haenelt went to be with his Dad and the Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 4, 2006. He was at home surrounded by his loved ones, after a 13 month courageous fight with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).
He was born January 4, 1957 in Odessa, Texas. He was a Corporal in the Marine Corps. for six years and was a Corporal for the Odessa Police Department for 16 years and 8 months.
Gary lived his life fully. He loved sports and was active in scuba diving, sky diving, snow skiing, and golfing. He enjoyed flying radio-controlled airplanes and helicopters and racing small race cars. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Gary is survived by his wife, Barbara and step grandson Saij, of the home in Odessa, his mother, Wanda Haenelt of Houston, Texas, one sister, Brenda Moomey and husband, Paul, of Houston, two brothers, Paul Haenelt, Jr., of Houston, Mark Haenelt and wife, Lisa, of Odessa, Texas. He has three nieces, Amber Haenelt and Kelly Moomey of Houston, and Kerri Haenelt of Odessa, one nephew, Michael Moomey, of Houston, his father and mother-in-law, Harley and Dorothy Kennedy of Odessa, Texas, and many other family and friends. He was preceeded in death by his Father, Paul T. Haenelt Sr.
We would like to thank the following people and organizations for their cards, letters, and kindnesses: the Odessa Police Department, the Municipal Court, Bellows Systems, Dr. Abdul Kadir of Odessa, Dr. Stanley Appel, Dr. Dennis Mossier, Dr. Ryan McDonald of Houston, and Dr. John Whitten. Services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at 2pm. At Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive family and friends from 6pm to 8pm Friday October 6, 2006 at Sunset Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to the MDA Foundation.

Harrington


Charles William Harrington Jr.
Santo Charles William Harrington, Jr., 50, passed away September 11, 2006 at his residence in Santo. He was born October 27, 1955 in Odessa the son of Charles “Rusty” and Syble McGuire Harrington. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1974 and received an Associates Degree in Electronics from Odessa College. Charles worked as a machinist and then in office machine repairs and electronics in Odessa. He resided in Odessa until 1988 at which time he moved to Santo to care for parents. After moving to Santo, he took care of the family farm and he worked part-time for his uncle, Roy Harrington, testing gas lines for corrosion. Graveside services will be 2 PM Friday, September 15, 2006 at the Hittson Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. He is survived by his mother: Syble Harrington of Santo, sisters and brother-in-law: Julia Harrington of Sacramento, California, Wanda Harrington of Simms, Helen and Howard Hicks of San Antonio, brother and sister-in-law: Richard and Artie Roedel of Weatherford, six aunts, one uncle, and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

Harris

Albert W. Harris, 82, of Odessa, a building contractor, died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2006, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at First United Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Terry Pugh and J.T. Pugh officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Allen Harris officiating. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Mabank. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors Wife, Joy Harris of Odessa; sons, Allen Harris and Randal Harris, both of Odessa; daughters, Elaine Smith of Gillette, Wyo., and Patricia Mosley of Odessa; brother, Cecil Carlisle of Mont Belvieu; sister, Lenora Watson of Victorville, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Henderson

ODESSA - Bryan Neal Henderson, grandson of Ector County pioneer settler John Julius Henderson, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2007, at his residence surrounded by his family. Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Terry Tamplen and the Rev. Donnie Williams will officiate. Masonic interment will follow in Henderson Ranch Family Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends and family 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the residence.Pallbearers are: Dr. Bryan Henderson II, Bryan Henderson III, John Henderson, John Henderson II, Judge Mark Owens, and Mark Owens II Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to First United Methodist Church, Bryan Henderson Memorial, 415 N. Lee. He was born in Fort Worth in 1933 and graduated from Arlington Heights High School. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in civil engineering and married Barbara Wilkes in 1953. Bryan worked for the Corps of Civil Engineers and engineered the development of Big Bend National Park. He then moved to Odessa, where he worked as the director of public works for the city of Odessa for 20 years, followed by 12 years of service as county commissioner of Precinct 2. Following a life of public service, he returned to ranching. Bryan's involvement in this community included: board member of MHMR, former director of Kermit State Bank, board member of Orange Tree Association, board of First United Methodist Church, Permian Basin Rehabilitation Center, Sandhills Stock Show, Odessa Shrine Club, Odessa Scottish Rite Association, El Maida Temple, Odessa Optimist Club past president, Permian Basin Historical Society, UT Exes, Longhorn Foundation, past president of Texas Society of Professional Engineers; colonel of Commemorative Air Force; charter member of West Texas Safari Club.Bryan was an avid hunter, loved UT football, ranching, playing cards and betting on all sports events with grandchildren and friends, and attending Mojo football games. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Barbara; and his parents, Lera and Bryan Henderson.With loving hearts, a special thanks to Home Hospice and Ava.Survivors: His older sister, Lera Jean Sharpe and husband, Harold, of Fort Worth; daughter, Teresa and husband, Mark Owens, of Odessa; son, Bryan and wife, Karen Henderson, of Dallas; son, John and wife, Beth Henderson, of San Antonio. Herbert

Robert Morgan Herbert, 81, of Odessa, died Friday, July 8, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Eisenhower Church of Christ with Burt Groves officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home.
Survivors Son, Kenneth Herbert of Midland; sister, Willie Anderson of Corsicana; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Hext

Deceased Name: Odessa mayor dies of cancer after treatment
Odessa Mayor Bill Hext died after undergoing a stem cell transplant to treat non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. He was 61.
Hext went to Seattle last month to undergo the treatment at the University of Washington Medical Center for the cancer, which came out of remission a few months before he was elected in May 2000.
He died in the hospital on Wednesday.
Hext was born in Pampa but lived in Odessa for more than 50 years.
Hext helped pass an economic development sales tax to help diversify the economy by offering incentives to non-oil industry companies, said Becki Murphy, a spokeswoman for the city.
Hext also supported an initiative to bring a mass transit system to Odessa, she said.
Hext served on the Odessa City Council for two years, and he and his wife Jane were named the city's "Outstanding Citizen(s) of the Year" for 2000.

Hulsey

Geraldine Lorena Hulsey, 70, of Odessa, died Saturday, November 27, 2004, while visiting family for the holidays.
Mrs. Hulsey was born October 14, 1934, in Keota, Okla., to Edgar and Lorena Cole. After she retired from the University of Oklahoma, her favorite pastime was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook for her family and friends. She was always finding new recipes to try. She dedicated her life to caring for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hulsey.
Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda Arledge and husband, Larry, of San Angelo; three sons, Dewayne Fletcher and wife, Ellen, of Norman, Okla., Mike Hulsey and wife, Anita, of Norman, Okla., and Roger Hulsey and wife, Susie, of Odessa; her sisters, Jewel Gaultney, Edna Stamps, Sibby Walden and Kathryn Palmer; her brother, Kenneth Cole; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one more due in December.
There will be a visitation from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2004, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
