Jackson
Royce W. Jackson
Feb. 6, 1939 - Dec. 21, 2007
Royce W. Jackson, 68, born Feb. 6, 1939,
in Gilmer, Texas, passed away Friday,
Dec. 21, 2007, in Odessa, Texas. He was
born to Clarence and Jessie Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his father,
Clarence, who died from coronary
thrombosis at the age of 48 when Royce
was 19 years old; and his mother,
Jessie, who passed away in 2000, at the
age of 91.
Royce attended college in Kilgore,
Texas, and Louisiana Tech in Ruston, La.
He was a member of the Coast Guard
Reserves for eight years, a member of
the Elks Club for 33 years, and the
American Legion for two years. He
retired as a Union Millwright Welder.
Although he had many different jobs
through his lifetime, the one he liked
best of all and was very good at was
wheeling and dealing, buying and selling
any and every thing, from real estate
and interesting items he made by hand,
to dumpster diving goodies.
Royce lived in Farmington from 1963 to
1987, then on to Las Vegas, Nev., which
was his favorite place to be, until he
moved to Odessa, Texas, to be with
Delores Van Ryan.
Visitation for Royce will be from 8 a.m.
to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27 and Friday,
Dec. 28, at Acres West Funeral Chapel,
811 W. University Blvd. in Odessa, and
from 8 a.m. until the services at 2 p.m.
Saturday, Dec. 29, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, Royce asked
donations be made to Home Hospice, 516
N. Texas St., Odessa, TX 79769.
Johnson
Wilma Mae Johnson, 87,
of Odessa, a catering business owner,
died Tuesday, Oct. 5, 2004, at her
residence.
Services will be held at a later date in
Kingman, Ariz.
She was born in Clayton, N.M. She was
Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Dennis Webb of Kingman
and Donald Webb of Yuma, Ariz.;
daughters, Betty Sundwall and Patricia
Owens, both of Odessa and Martha Cook of
Sedalia, Mo.; brothers, Bob Dinwiddie of
Arlington, Wash., and Donald Dinwiddie
of Yuma, Ariz.; sister, Dorothy Wright
of Tucson, Ariz.; and many grandchildren
and great-grandchildren.
