Qualls

James Paul Qualls

Odessa James Paul Qualls passed away Saturday, May 12, 2007, at Alliance Hospital.
He began life in Mulberry, AR, on August 8, 1925, when he was born the third child of Phines and Bessie Qualls’ five children. On May 6, 1946, he married Barbara Morris in Okmulgee, OK.

During World War II, he enlisted in the Navy Air Corp and re-enlisted in the U. S. Navy until 1951, when he moved his family to Odessa. During the 1950’s, he was employed by Rumbaugh, the Hudson Company, and the Studebaker Company. After working for Sewell Ford from 1961 to 1967, Jim and two of his brothers opened their own business, Qualls Truck and Auto.

Jim also pursued a calling to the ministry. At various times over the past fifty years, he happily ministered at Andrews Freewill Baptist, and Landmark Freewill Baptist Churches in Odessa. He only recently retired from the ministry in December 2006, after serving for eight years at Bible Freewill Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara of 55 years, older brother Cecil Qualls and his wife, Martha; younger brother, Raymond Qualls, and sister, Lucille Heathcott, and her husband, J.D.

Queen

Wylie Queen
ODESSA ? Wylie D. Queen, 77, of Big Spring, a retired truck driver for Permian Corporation, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at a local hospital.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Carroll Kohl officiating. Arrangements are by Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home and Crematory of Big Spring.
He was born in Decatur, Ga. He served in the Army and Air Force.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Miles Queen of Citonelle, Ala., and Kyle Queen of San Angelo.

He is survived by his only son, Timothy Qualls, daughter-in-law, Cheryl, and granddaughter, Jamie Qualls; brother, Troy Qualls and his wife, Mickey, and a dear sister-in-law, Mae Qualls, numerous nieces, nephews, and church family throughout Texas, Oklahoma, and Missouri.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, May 14, 2007, at Hubbard-Kelly Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial with immediate family will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Bob Quick
ODESSA ? Bob M. Quick, 74, of Odessa, a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, died Monday, Sept. 8, 2003, at Crane Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Dewey Blevins officiating. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Clay Center, Kan. He was an Army veteran.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Evelyn Denise Evans of Odessa, Beverly Louise Hatfield and Katherine Cheryl Calvert, both of Dallas, Cynthia Anne Windom and Dianna Fay Bynum, both of Odessa; and 14 grandchildren.

MIDLAND Rodrigo L. Quino?nez, 71, of Midland, an auto mechanic, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2008, at Midland Memorial Hospital.

A prayer service will be at 6 p.m. today at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Services will be conducted in Ojinaga, Mexico, with burial to follow at Jardines de San Jose Cementario.

Arrangements are by Acres West Funeral Chapel.

He was born in Mexico.

SURVIVORS Wife, Maria Bertha Baeza of Midland; sons, Rodrigo Quinonez Jr. of Ojinaga, Mexico, Jesus Quinonez, Socorro Quinonez and David Quinonez, all of Odessa, Sergio Quinonez of Louisiana and Felipe Quinonez and Ruben Quinonez, both of Ojinaga, Mexico; daughters, Geneva Aguilar of Odessa and Martha Camacho of Ojinaga, Mexico; brothers, Carlos Quinonez of Phoenix, Ariz., and Alcadio Quinonez of Ojinaga, Mexico; sisters, Esther Levario and Natalia Baeza, both of Ojinaga, Mexico, Eloysia Morales of Midland and Anna Leyva of Odessa; and numerous grandchildren.
