Vales
George Vales, 74, of
Odessa, passed away on Thursday, May 19,
2005, at Midland Memorial Hospital.
A gathering will be held to celebrate
his life from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday,
May 21, 2005, at the Nalley-Pickle &
Welch Chapel in Midland.
He was born on August 15, 1930, in
Wauwatosa, Wisconsin. He was raised in
Milwaukee and attended schools there. He
graduated from the Boys Technical High
School and attended Marquette
University.
George served in the United States Air
Force during the Korean War. He married
Alice Klapchar on November 15, 1952, in
El Paso, Texas. The couple spent most of
their lives in Milwauwkee before
retiring to Las Vegas. In 2005, they
moved to Odessa to be closer to family.
George enjoyed bowling and was a member
of the Kiwanis Club, American Legion and
VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Vales
of Odessa; two children, Gerald Vales
and his wife Suzette of McHenry,
Illinois; Patricia Ares and her husband
Sam of Odessa; one brother, John Vales
of Las Vegas; four grandchildren,
Vanessa and husband Tony Dunn of Odessa;
John Confer of Dallas, Ariel Vales and
Madisen Vales, both of McHenry,
Illinois; three great-grandchildren,
Brinlee Dunn, Sophie Dunn and Sydney
Dunn.
He was preceded in death by his parents
and one sister.
The family suggests memorials be made to

Villanueva
Maria Villanueva, 85, of
Odessa, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, at
Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at
Frank Wilson Chapel with the Rev.
Rosario Hill officiating. Burial will be
at Sunset Memorial Gardens. She was born
in Carlsbad, N.M.
Survivors Sons, Manuel Rodriguez of
Marfa, Hector Rodriguez of Pueblo, Colo.
and Butch Rodriguez of Pampa; daughters,
Paula Lopez of Odessa and Delma
Rodriguez of Woodlake, Calif., 18
grandchildren; and 17
great-grandchildren.
