Juergen Vertig - Fredericksburg, Tex., Jan 19. - Juergen Vertig, a pioneer settler in this section and resident of Fredericksburg, died and was buried in the Union Cemetery Thursday, Rev. Mr. Gammenthaler, pastor of the M. E. Church South, conducting the funeral services at the church and at the grave. Mr. Vertig was 80 years old at the time of his death. Many years ago he was a peace officer in Mason County and afterwards occupied the same position in this county for several years.
