Sep. 26 -- Newt Hale a former resident of Paris, died at Hope Ark. of slow fever.
Sept 24 -- J.C. Bernight died at Goodland, I.T. last Friday night from a congestive chill after being sick only ten hours
Sept 26 -- Dr. A.J. Redding, a pioneer resident of Lamar county, aged 80 years, died last night at the home of his son-in-law, Dr. J.M. Stephens, in this city.

J.M.C. Gates
July 29- J.M.C. Gates died today at his home a few miles east of Paris and will be buried tomorrow by the Odd Fellows. Mr. Yates was a brother of ex-Governor Yates of Illinois and had lived here a long time. [Dallas Morning News, 1899-08-01, submitted by Barbara Ziegenmeyer]
Eugenia Hubbard
PARIS. Dec.2 -- Mrs.. Eugenia Hubbard, wife of A. G. Hubbard died at a local sanitarium Wednesday Funeral services were Held Thursday Rev J. B. Wallace and Rev. W. H. Kendall officiated. Mrs. Hubbard was a native of Bowie County, a daughter of James R. Moss, a pioneer of that county. Her mother was a member of the Illustrious Blackburn family of Kentucky She was married to A G. Hubbard in 1874, and has resided in Paris for thirty-five years. Besides her husband she is survived by the following children. James Hubbard and R M. Hubbard of New Boston, T. A Hubbard of Maud, Bowie County; Mrs. Sarah Gibbons of New York. W. E and J H. Hubbard of Sweetwater; Mrs. J W. McReynolds of Wichita Falls, Mrs. F H Bailey, Mrs Mary Hubbard Meyer and D. G. Hubbard of this city. Of the sons R. M. Hubbard Is the chairman of the State Highway Commission and the others are successful business men including the children and grandchildren she is survived by twenty-six descendants. AGED WOMAN'S DEATH - Was 96 Years Old and Personally Acquainted With President Polk
Paris, Texas, Dec.26, 1901 - Mrs. Charlotte Elizabeth Robertson, aged 96, died at 12 o'clock last night at the home of her grandson, W. A. Roach, on South Birmingham street, as a result of a fall eight days ago, in which she sustained a broken hip. The deceased was born in Southampton county, Virginia, and was a daughter of Col. Hardee Applewhite, an officer in the Colonial army during the revolutionary war. When ten years old she moved to Tennessee. She was personally acquainted with President Polk, his father, General Polk, and her mother owning adjoining farms. The deceased has been a resident of this county since 1870 and leaves a son and a daughter surviving her here. Rev. Anderson P. Easley
Funeral Rites Held For Rev. Easley
Paris, Texas.- Funeral services for the Rev. Anderson P. Easley, retired Baptist minister and farmer were held here Sunday with burial in Vernon Cemetery. He was born Aug. 2, 1856, in Tennessee.
Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Susie White: two sons, Raymond Easley and Ulda Easley, both of Paris, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Combs of Dallas and Mrs. Sallie Morgan of Lubbock; a half brother Willie Easley, Georgia, Tenn., and sixteen grandchildren.
