John Yandel and Bessie (Phillips) L. Student at Gulf Coast Military Academy and
University of Arkansas; married Ester Allen 25 Dec 1926- 1 daughter Ann. He
worked with North Texas Trust Company. investments in Dallas 1925-1927; as the
manager of the bond department. He was with the Dallas Trust and Savings Bank,
1927-29; section at Fort Worth National Company, in investments, 1929-33; and
cashier Fort Worth National Bank, 1933-26, and vice president in 1936-38,
1939-47; vice president of the Republic National Bank, Dallas, since 1947;
director of General Insurance Corporation Association Employers Lloyds, Houston
Fire & Casualty Insurance Company, President of the Financial Advertisers
Association, 1944-45; chairman conference commission of Texas Bankers
Association 1938-48; chairman of the conference commission of Texas Bankers
Association, 1938-48; chairman public relations council, 1948-49; Past President
of Fort Worth Jr. Chamber of Commerce; director or the Chamber of Commerce 1945-
1945. Member of the American Bankers Association (chairman public relations

JohnLewell Lafferty, son of John Yandell Lafferty and Margaret Phillips, was
born 17 Jan 1905, in Winnfield, Louisiana. John died 3 Jul 1966, in Dallas,
Texas. He married Esther Allen 25 Dec 1926. She was born 26 Jun 1903, in Van
Buren County, Arkansas, died 27 June 1993 Dallas, Texas. They had 1 child: Ann
Lafferty born 4 Nov 1930 died 6 April 2005 she no children. Ann married twice 1.

Lewell was the top man for the Republican Bank in Dallas Texas. When he was
getting ready to retire in 1966 he went out to look at the 1,000 acres that he
had bought north of Dallas, Texas. He had great plans for his ranch. Was looking
forward to when he would be living there full time. There he was stung by a
yellow jacket and died 20 minutes later. His widow continued to reside in Dallas
and in 1992 was living in a Retirement home. Esther Allen was of the Allen's of
