ANNIVERSARIES

Golden Wedding of Pioneer Moab Couple Observed
The golden wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert S. Day, pioneer Moab couple, was celebrated Tuesday, March 8, at the home of their daughter, Mrs. C. R. Williams, at Puyallup, Washington, where they have been on a visit for some time.

The following account of the celebration is taken from a Tacoma, Wash., paper, copy of which was sent The Times-Independent by C. R. Williams.

"Puyallup, March 11 -- Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Day celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the home of their daughter, Mrs. C. R. Williams, 726 7th street northwest, Tuesday. A dinner was served at 5 o'clock and places were spread for 30. The evening's entertainment was a program of musical numbers. Mr. and Mrs. Day who are 72 and 66, respectively, came here in August from Moab, Utah, and have since made their home with Mr. and Mrs. Williams, and expect to go to Bremerton soon, where they will be with their son, George Day. They are accompanied by their granddaughter, Miss Ina McCombs.

"Former friends of Mr. and Mrs. Day who have come to this locality made up the guest list with the relatives. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Wright, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Bailey, Mr. and Mrs. R. Brissdorf, Mrs. Charles Shoemaker, Mrs. Minnie Taylor, Mrs. C. R. Williams, J. H. Robertson, Mr. Swagler, Miss Grace Bailey, Catherine Decker, Clara and Frances Williams, Conda Jensen, Evangeline Wagstaff, Grace Rippley, Miss Cummings, Miss Walker, Miss Naumann, Miss Olsen, Ina Combs, Toots Bendorf, George Day, S. H. Lamb, M. W. Eliasen."

The account of the golden wedding in the Tacoma paper is accompanied by a very good picture of Mr. and Mrs. Day.
