OBITUARIES



LONDON, THEODORE "TED" C.
Theodore ''Ted'' Charles London, 76, of Croydon died Friday, April 20, 1990 in Morgan.

He was born December 1, 1913 in Croydon, Morgan County, to Alfred John and Caroline Cook Chapman London. He married Faye Crouch on June 3, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died November 19, 1983. He attended school in Croydon and Morgan and graduated from Morgan High School. Also attended Weber College. Member of the LDS Church, Morgan 3rd Ward. He served as Bishop of the Croydon Ward for 15 years; a member of the Morgan Stake High Council for many years and had also served in the YMMIA as a Sunday School superintendent, ward clerk, financial clerk. Member of the Morgan Stake High Priest Quorom presidency. Stake missionary and a home teacher for over 60 years. He served on the Utah Highway Patrol for 35 years as a trooper, sargeant, lieutenant and lieutenant colonel. He had served as assistant superintendent of the patrol and was acting superintendent at the time of his retirement in 1976. He is a previus member of the Morgan Lions Club; member of the Utah Peace Officers Assn.; member of the Board of the Utah Highway Patrol Assn; member of the Weber Morgan Council of Aging; and was active in many community activities and projects.

Surviving are four sons and their wives, Gary and Kaisa London, Seattle, Washington; Richard ''Rick'' and Lynne London, Jeff and Sally London, Tony and Cindy London, all of Morgan; 16 grandchildren. Also surviving, one brother, Delbert T. London, Salt Lake City; half-sister, Elizabeth Coulter, Anaheim, Calif. Preceded in death by two brother, two sisters, and two half brothers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Morgan Stake Chapel, 355 North 700 East. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary in Morgan Monday from 6-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Interment, Croyden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Croyden Town Park, c/o of Clara Thomson, Morgan, Utah 84050. Few have left the legacy of fair, honest and caring leadership as you have for so long.

PORTER, QUEENA W.
Queena Wadsworth Taggart Singleton Porter of Taggarts, Morgan, Utah, died at her home Tuesday, March 20, 1990.

She was born April 26, 1908 in Morgan, Utah to Edward Norris and Nancy Lavina Robison Wadsworth. She married A. Dewey Taggart, June 5, 1929 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; he died February 16, 1944. She married Fredrick L. Singleton, June 16, 1947 in Ely, Nevada; he died May 16, 1955. She married Lawrence A. Porter in Centerville, November 19, 1958; he died June 19, 1983. She lived her entire life in Morgan and attended Morgan schools. Graduated in 1927 with honors, excelling in oratory. She was a member of the LDS Church where she held various stake and ward positions during the years. At the time of her death she was a member of the Morgan 3rd Ward. In 1936 with her sister Margaret and their husbands Dewey and Howard they founded Taggart's Camp in Weber Canyon. She was active in the business for many years.

Surviving are three sons and one daughter, Dewey W. Taggart and Fredrick K. Singleton, both Morgan; Stanton W. Taggart, Evanston, Wyoming; Mrs. Gail (Judee) Woodward, Morgan; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother Norris Wadsworth, Walnut Creek, Calif.; two sisters, Margaret Taggart and Mrs. Willard (Maxine) Nielsen, both of Morgan; one step-brother, two step-sisters, William Redden, Morgan; Mildred Tuttle, Ogden; Katherine Harris, Nevada; four stepsons, seven step-daughters, and numerous step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Edward Taggart, two grandsons and one granddaughter, and two sisters, Ruby and Catherine.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., in the Morgan Stake Chapel. Friends may call in the Walker Mortuary in Morgan, Thursday, 6-8 p.m., and Friday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment South Morgan Cemetery.

PORTER, RUSSELL C.
Russell C. Porter, 73, died Wednesday, February 7, 1990 at his home of heart failure.

He was born April 7, 1916 in Morgan, a son of Sanford Orin and Anna Eliza Peterson Porter. He married DeVere (Dee) Simper, June 22, 1940 in Morgan, Utah. He attended Richville school and graduated from Morgan High School. He was a member of the LDS Church and was a High Priest and a home teacher. He had worked as ward fiance clerk and also in the MIA. He was co-owner and operator of Porter Livestock, Inc. and owner of Porter Mink Ranch, retiring in 1985. He had served as Morgan City Councilman, Mayor of Morgan City for two terms and Morgan County Commissioner. He was past president of Morgan Lions Club, chairman of the Morgala Days Rodeo, on the planning committee of Riverside Park, chairman of Morgan County Bicentennial and active in the Morgan County Senior Citizens.

Surviving are his wife, Morgan; two sons, Ronald C. Porter, Morgan; Dennis D. Porter, El Paso, Texas; three grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Reed (Anona) Dickson, Morgan; Mrs. Vern (Wanda) Sherman, Georgia; he was preceded in death by two brothers.

Funeral services 11 a.m., Monday, Morgan Stake Chapel with Bishop Robert Memmott officiating. Friends may call at Walker Mortuary in Morgan, Sunday, 6-8 p.m. and Monday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment: South Morgan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association Fund.

ROLLINS, LEE B.
Lee Bybee Rollins, 78, died Sunday, April 29, 1990 at his home of heart failure.

Born December 5, 1911 in Mountain Green to Oscar Whitaker and Zina Pearl Bybee Rollins. He married Mary Ellen Bybee on June 10, 1935 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He had lived in Mountain Green all of his life. He graduated from Morgan High School in 1930 and attended Utah State University and Weber State College. He played football in both high school and college. He was a High Priest in the Peterson First LDS Ward. He had served as a Bishop's Counselor in the Peterson Ward. He had served on the Morgan Stake High Council. He was a scout leader and ward and stake dance director and a ward clerk in the Mountain Green Ward.

He had served as a Morgan County Commissioner and Deputy County Assessor. He was a member of the Agricultural Stabilization Committee. Secretary of Northwest Irrigation Co. and taught ''On The Farm'' training to World War II veterans. He was honored by the District Soil Conservation. Mr. Rollins had been a rancher/farmer and was the co-owner of the Rollins Brothers Ranch with his brother, Harold. He was a long-time member of ''Whitney Whirlers'' Square Dance Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and played baseball in the Farm Bureau League and was a softball coach.

Surviving are his wife, Mountain Green; one son, three daughters, Marlow ''Mike'' Rollins, Mountain Green; Mrs. Kenneth (Barbara) Rock, Farmington; Mrs. Kent (Leah) Nichols, Henefer; Gayleen Rollins, Portage, Michigan; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; also surviving are three brothers, five sisters, Theron B. Rollins and Harold B. Rollins, both Mountain Green; Myron B. Rollins, Billings, Montana; Mrs. Royal (Alice) Sorenson, St. George; Mrs. Edward (Afton) Jacobson, Pullman, Washington; Mrs. Eldon (Josephine) Hurst, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Lee (Marjorie) Adams, Denver, Colorado; Mrs. Clyde (Norma) Maughan, Schenectady, New York. Preceded in death by his parents, one sister, twin brothers, one grandson and two great-grandsons.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Larry Brewer of the Peterson First Ward officiating. Friends may call at the Mortuary Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Interment: Mountain Green Cemetery.

WALKER, MELODY
Melody Walker, 19, of Mountain Green, died August 9, 1990 in an Ogden hospital of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born March 22, 1971, daughter of Glenn Ronald and Susan Arleen Beard Cramer Walker.

Surviving is her mother, Susan Walker, Mountain Green; father and stepmother, Glenn and Mildred Walker, Ogden; also surviving are four brothers, two sisters.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 3329 Harrison Blvd. Friends may call at the Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. in Ogden, Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday at the church 11:45 to 12:45. Interment: Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch.
