Out Forty-Two Minutes
It Took A Vermont Jury Just That Length of Time To Acquit An Alleged
Murderer
North Hero, Vt., May 6-The jury in the Coangelo murder
case returned a verdict today of not guilty, after having been out forty-two
minutes. Antonio Coangelo was put on trial last Thursday for the alleged
murder of John Julian on December 17, 1900, at Alburgh. (Submitted by Shauna

North Hero, Vt., May 7-The jury in the Coangelo murder
trial returned a verdict of not guilty last night. Antonio Coangelo was placed
on trial on May 1 for the alleged murder of John Julian on Dec 17, 1900.
Julian's body was found on the railroad tracks at Alburg, with a bullet embedded

Caught In Canada
Montreal, Jan 15-Edward J. Al?ard of South Hero, Vt., who broke out of the
county jail at North Hero, on Jan 2, after his arrest on larceny charges
was arrested, yesterday, at Valleyfield, Que. It is believed he will waive
extradition and return to Vermont today. (Submitted by S. Williams)

Sleeper Slips Into The Lake
North Hero, Vt., Jan 31-A sleeper of a Montreal express
train left the rails and slid into Lake Champlain early today, according
to a report reaching here. The accident occurred between this village and
Grand Isle Vermont. The message did not give details or say whether there
had been loss of life.
The scene of the wreck is remote from any community.
Telephone communication was made difficult by the extreme
cold. The mercury was 30 degrees below zero.
North Hero and Grand Isle are on the Rutland railroad,
some distance above Burlington. Both places are on the shore of Lake Champlain.
