Louisa County History

Established in 1742 from Hanover County, Louisa County is named for Princess Louise of Great Britain, the youngest daughter of King George II and the wife of King Frederick V of Denmark. Patrick Henry lived in Louisa County for a short time, on Roundabout Creek. Patrick Henry won his first election in 1765, to represent Louisa County.  Thomas Johnson was a representative of Louisa County in the House of Burgesses.
