Jonathan Weldon

Jonathan Weldon was born in Virginia about 1738. He died in Pittsylvania County on December 18, 1781.

He married Mary Elizabeth Hanks about 1763 in Virginia. She was the daughter of Luke Hanks and Ann Harris. She was born in Pittsylvania County about 1741 and she died after 1815 in the Abbeville District of South Carolina where she moved after the death of her husband.

Names Wife: Mary, my plantation where I live with stock of all kinds
Son: Jonathan Weldon-100 acres of land at upper end of my land-across from "line to line".
Son: Isack Weldon-100 acres of land adjoining Jonathan's "line to line".
Son: William Dale-50 acres of land where I live after my wife's decease and ten pounds cash.
Daughters: Susannah Weldon, Frances Weldon. Elizabeth, Sarah, MAry and Lida Weldon
All moveable estate, after my wife's death, to William Dale except the pounds to be divided equally

Executors: Wife mary Weldon, Moses Hanks and John Waller
Witnesses: John Creel, James Addams, John (X) Pond and Fortan Dodson.
