If you have questions regarding one (or more) of your Virginia ancestors, you can email them to me by clicking HERE and I will post them on this page for our hundreds of guests to view, Someone just might have the answer that has been eluding you. This service has worked out very well on some of our other websites and now we are offering it to our visitors who have Virginia ancestors.

Your email address will be posted along with your query so that you can be contacted directly, or they can email me and I will contact you as well as posting the data here for others to see. If you would rather that your email address not be posted, please let me know in your initial letter and I will act as the go-between to assure your privacy.

Also posted here will be offers of assistance with different family names. If you have your family tree pretty much filled in, you might be interested in sharing and helping someone who is researching the same surname. Space doesn't allow for us to post extensive family trees on our websites, so this will be a way of getting around that. The best part of doing genealogy is sharing your data with others...

Just click on the person's name to email them.  The most recent submissions are listed first.

moved from Christiansburg to Pearisburg in 1900 and lived in Pearisburg, then Narrows, Giles County, VA until her death in 1956.  I believe she was active in church,
possibly Presbyterian.  In addition to 4 other children, she had a son Samuel Johnson, who died in the influenza epidemic of 1918 during his service in WWI.  My great grandfather James W Johnson was the grandson of Samuel Johnson who volunteered as a private in Company "B" of West Virginia Volunteer Cavalry during the Civil War.
In 1878, Samuel Johnson settled in Narrows and, later Pearisburg until his death sometime after 1910.

NUNNALLY - Nottoway Co., Prince Edward Co.
I am trying to track down my Gr-gr-gr-Granfather. His son was Samuel J. Nunnally  who was born in 1835 and died between 1910 &1920. He is listed in the 1910 U.S. Federal Census as of 23rd April 1910...(as a Lamuel J. Nunnally, believe it or not)...but must have died between 1910-1920. I have no official date of death, but I was hoping to get a copy of his death certificate thinking it may list his Parent's names. He, I believe, died in Crewe Town, Winningham District, Nottoway County, Virginia. His wife's name was Martha Sarah, but apparently preferred Sarah Martha and I believe she is listed as such on her tombstone (I have been told) which is located in a Cemetary located near ? Farmville ?

I am trying to track down the parents of my Gr-gr Grandfather, Samuel J. Nunnally. He may have actually died in Nottoway County as that is where he last lived as per the 1910 U.S. Federal Census, but I am fairly certain he and his wife, Martha Sarah (tombstone may say Sarah Martha 1847-1923) are buried near or in  Farmville, Pr.Edward County....
I hope to obtain a death certificate or record for Samuel J.'s death hoping it may list the names of his parents.
His father name may have been "Creed T. Nunnally" and he was apparently from the Pr.Edward area
Wm. Nunnally

ARCHIBALD FORGERY & ELEANOR ROLLER - Scott Co.
Archibald and Eleanor settled in Scott Co in the early 1800s.  Archibald (died abt 1865) may have been buried in a cemetery located on C.P. Rollers land near the junction of County road 826 and 622, in Scott Co. Road 622 is about 1.5 miles north of Fairview Road.  Fairview Road 600 to the N.W. connects to US Hwy 23 about 2 miles west of the Clinch River Bridge.  Looking for that cemetery's info.  Christy La Barthe

JOHN HOLLAND & MARY RHODES - Fauquier Co.
I am researching my Gr-Gr-grandparents John Holland and Mary Rhodes.  They came from England to US.  My grandfather John Rhodes Holland and his brother born 2 years later, were the first of the family born in the US, in 1819 and 1821, near the Chesapeake Bay area.  The 1850 census gives names of children born in VA in the early 1820s. They may have been in the Hume area in 1840, and in the Delaplane (Piedmont) area in 1850.  They had a woolen mill in Fauquier County.  Any info appreciated.
