Pomeroy, Wash -- Sept.
6. -- News was received here today of the death at Seattle of Mrs.
Mary P. Shields, and old pioneer of Garfield county. Mrs. Shields
settled at Pennewawa, in Garfield county, in 1881, and until a few
years ago spent most of her life in this county. Two daughters and
four sons survive her. They are: W.W. Shields of Dayton, B.F. and
C.H. Shields of Seattle, J.C. Shields of Coos county, Ore., Mrs. G.
W. Ross, Waltsburg, and Mrs. Nellie Sifton of Spokane.
