Mrs. E. Healy, of Seattle, was the guest last week of her sister, Miss Doris Treat.

Will H. Delk, of Seattle, representing the American Type Founders company, was in the city last Saturday figuring on new equipment for the Chronicle office.

Charles E. Leake, of Seattle, representing the Washington Insurance Surveyor, was here last week re-listing the many new business and residence structures for insurance rating.

July 25, 1907

Paul Salzer has sold his ranch near Grand Mound to William Calder, of Seattle, the sale being made through the agency of the Centralia Investment Co. We are informed that Mr. Calder gets immediate possession and that Mr. Salzer will move to Centralia to live.

Miss Anna Beach, of Seattle, is the guest of Misses Veola and Veora Dickerson. Miss Beach gives lessons in handpainting and will be accompanied to Seattle in a few weeks by Miss Veola Dickerson, who remain in that city until she has completed her course in China painting.

July 25, 1907

Miss Mabel Ingraham, of Seattle, arrived in Centralia Wednesday, for a short visit with friends and relatives.

M.F. Roupe, of Seattle, a first-class sign painter and grainer, has located in the city. He is an old schoolmate of Richard Hartman of the Chronicle Job department.

August 1, 1907

Miss Cleone Scougal, of Seattle, returned home Thursday after a visit of six weeks with her aunt Mrs. C----. Miss Scougal has made many friends while visiting here.

O.P. Taylor, a former resident of Centralia, but who at present has his home in Seattle, made a short trip to this city in his automobile last Tuesday.

Miles McGrail informs us that he has sold his running horse, "Water Power," to W. Neville, of Seattle, who will take the animal to the Meadows. Water Power is a thoroughbred animal, sired by Watercross, which was recently sold for a very high price. Mr. McGrail thinks that Water Power will make good on the track at the Meadows.

August 8, 1907

Misses Veola Dickerson and Anna Beach departed last Friday for Seattle, where Miss Dickerson will continue her course in china painting under the instruction of Miss Beach. After her course has been completed, Miss Dickerson will again return to Centralia and resume school duties.

Major Waite, of Seattle, is to conduct a special meeting at the Salvation Army hall in Centralia Friday evening of this week.

Henry Schaller, of Tacoma, and C.W. Whisler, of Seattle, president and secretary of the State Board of Barbers' Examiners, were in Centralia Friday making an inspection of local tonsorial establishments. Whilst here they appointed George Berlin, of the Olympic Club, as deputy examiner for this city, a position for which he is fully qualified.

George Murray, state labor inspector, of Seattle, visited the mills and factories in and around Centralia last week, and expresses himself as being well pleased with the labor conditions of this city.

Mrs. O.P. Taylor, of Seattle, who together with her son and daughter, have been visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E.T. Tallmadge, returned home Tuesday.

September 5, 1907

Miss Bessie Wade left today for Seattle where she will attend a business college this winter.

H.R. Sheets, from Seattle, is now employed as coat maker for W.L. Jones, the tailor and furnisher.

The West Coast Land Company, of Seattle, has opened a local office in Centralia, with H. Schroeppel in charge. They will handle city property, farm and timber lands.

Mrs. Geo. D. Kendall visited a few days with her daughter in Seattle the fore part of the week.

Miss Carrie Berry has accepted a position as teacher in one of the Seattle schools and departed last Friday for that city to assume duties.

W.D. O'Daniel and family moved to Centralia last week from Seattle to take up permanent quarters in this city. Mr. O Daniel says he is well pleased with the possibilities of Centralia and thinks there is great prospects for development.

September 12, 1907

G.A. Fulford of Seattle has bought the Roderick hotel and took possession today. He will refurnish and refit the hotel and expects to have one of the best in the city.

Rev. V.C. Evers the new pastor of the local church comes from Seattle where he was pastor of the Shaw Memorial Church. His family consists of his wife, two sons and one daughter.

W.H. Nudd came down from Seattle Monday to visit his son, E.F. Nudd

W.M. Stewart, of Seattle, formerly of Minneapolis has purchased a home in the south part of the city and ---- shortly move his family to Centralia.

Mrs. William Parks went to Seattle Monday to visit her daughter Mrs. Maud Lemage.

Mrs. M.E. Dougherty returned to Seattle on Monday after spending a short time visiting relatives in this city.

October 3, 1907

Mr. and Mrs. D. Durkee, of Seattle, are visiting in Centralia, the guests of Mrs. E. Evans.

Dr. S.R. Wagoner came down from Seattle yesterday.

Valen Honeywell and little Lucile Ramthun returned to Seattle on Tuesday. They had spent Sunday in town visiting relatives.

Judge John Arthur, of Seattle, visited over Sunday in Centralia with Robert Chamberlain.

Ira Honeywell went to Tacoma and Seattle today. He will visit his daughter, Mrs. Ramthun, , while in Seattle.

Mr. and Mrs. E. Goul are down from Seattle this week. He is a mill man and expects to find work here, and if he likes it will move here for this winter. 

Mrs. G.H. Ellsbury went to Seattle on Saturday. She will visit her daughters Mrs. Bloomer and Mrs. Minkler, and son Harry Ellsbury, while there.

Mr. and Mrs. C.A. Doty and children of Seattle visited with Mr. and Mrs. F.A. Martin between trains on Monday.

L.F. Cassady went to Seattle Thursday. He has been ailing for sometime and his son, Frank Cassady has taken him to his home in Seattle for medical aid.

October 10, 1907

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Buist, who have been guests of Centralia friends a short time, returned to their home in Seattle on Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Oran De Forrest returned to Seattle on Thursday, after visiting with relatives here for some time.

Miss Frances Bennett left Monday for a short visit with her sister, Mrs. G.M. Butterworth, in Seattle.

Fred Butterworth of Seattle has been replatting the Mountain View cemetery and making a great many other needed improvements.

Mrs. W.H. Ingraham is spending the week in Seattle, the guest of Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Ingraham.

C.P. Bissett, of Seattle, right of way and tax agent of the Oregon & Washington Ry., is here today inspecting the company's right of way up the Hanaford Valley.

Mrs. Rachael Copping and son, Walter Copping, and a daughter, Mrs. W.E. Taylor, returned from a trip to Temno on Saturday. They had been visiting friends a short time there. Mrs. Taylor will spend a short time here before she will return to her home in Seattle.

Mrs. Ed Le Margie, of Seattle, is visiting in the city this week, the guest of her mother, Mrs. Wm. Parks.

Mrs. Geo. D. Kendall was a passenger for Seattle Friday, where she will spend the week visiting her daughter, Miss Abbie Kendall.

Miss Vira Earle, of Seattle, came down Wednesday noon for a short visit with her aunt, Mrs. Geo. Kendall.

Mrs. Walter Ingraham returned Friday evening from a weeks visit with Mr. Ingraham's parents in Seattle.

Earl F. Mead, of Seattle, is in Centralia this week trying to interest some of our citizens in Seattle real estate.

Mrs. John Binckley, of Seattle, who has been visiting at the home of W.T. Binckley in this city for the past two weeks, returned to her home Sunday.

Dee Vedder and mother were passengers Friday for Seattle where they will make their future home. Dee will accept a position in the office of the Oklahoma Lumber Company.

November 6, 1907

Mrs. Maud LeMargie, who has been visiting with her mother Mrs. Wm. Parks in this city for the past two weeks returned to her home in Seattle Sunday.

J.R. Douglas and family expect to leave Centralia next week. Mrs. Douglas will go on an extended visit with friends in Illinois whilst Mr. Douglas will go to Seattle where he has secured a position with a dry goods firm.

November 9, 1907

T. Berte Smith, a Seattle real estate dealer who is interested in some valuable pieces of property in the vicinity of this city, is in town today. 

Mrs. Wm. Parks and Mrs. Edgar Henderson went to Seattle today, where they will be the guests of Mrs. Parks' daughter, Mrs. Ed Lemargie.

Walter Kelly went up to Seattle Thursday night for a few days visit with his parents.

November 13, 1907

Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Bloomer returned to Seattle Monday after a two week's visit in this city with Mrs. Bloomer's mother, Mrs. Geo. Ellsbury, and other relatives.

Mrs. B.R. Gibson is spending a few days with her mother, Mrs. McNight, in Seattle. She went up Tuesday.

Mrs. W.H. Nudd, of Seattle, is here visiting her son, E.F. Nudd. She expects to return home tomorrow accompanied by Mrs. E.F. Nudd.

C.A. DOTY'S HOME BURGLARIZED
     From today's Tacoma Ledger we learn that a porch climbing burglar visited the residence of C.A. Doty in Seattle Thursday evening and secured about $600 worth of jewelry. Mr. Doty was not at home on the night of the burglary, his business at Doty keeping him there during the week.

Mrs. Chas. Copping and daughter, Mrs. Wm. Taylor, came down from Seattle Thursday noon. Mrs. Taylor will visit with her mother in this city

Mrs. W.H. Nudd, who has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. C.F. Nudd in this city for several days, returned to her home in Seattle Thursday evening. She was accompanied by Mrs. C.F. Nudd, who will visit in that city for a few days.

A.M. Kanters, of Seattle, was in the city Thursday. Mr. Kanters is president of the West Coast Land Co., and visited their branch office in this city.

Chief Operator Shay, of the Pacific Coast Telephone Company, has been in the city nearly all this week looking over the local telephone office. Mr. Shay's home is in Seattle.

Mrs. Wm. Parks and Mrs. Edgar Henderson returned Thursday evening from a few days visit in Tacoma and Seattle. In Seattle they visited with Mrs. Ed Lemagie and in Tacoma with Mrs. Sylvnia Duckett. Mrs. Lemagie and Mrs. Duckets are Mrs. Park's daughters.

P.M. Pord, a prominent grocery man of Seattle, has purchased, through the West Coast Land Co., sixteen acres of land near the Herman Young hop yard. Mr. Ford will build a fine residence there and move his family to this city.

November 20, 1907

E.F. Nudd spent Sunday in Seattle visiting his parents and other relatives. Mrs. Nudd, who had been visiting there for several days, returned home with him Monday evening.

Mrs. B.R. Gibson returned Saturday evening from a week's visit with her mother in Seattle.

Mrs. William Ramthun and daughter, Lucile, of Seattle, are here visiting friends.

Mrs. Bennett and Mrs. G.R. Wilson and daughter, Miss Corren, of Seattle, are here on an extended visit with Mrs. W.M. Stuart.

Mr. and Mrs. H.M. Ingraham and the Misses Evalyn and Mable Ingraham of Seattle and Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Ingraham of this city, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Geo L. Ingraham at Thanksgiving dinner.

Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Nudd, Mr. and Mrs. O.P. Taylor and children and Jay Kingsley, of Seattle Mrs. Sarah Taylor, of Indianapolis, Indiana and C.S. Gilchrist, of this city, were Thanksgiving guests of Mr. and Mrs. E.F. Nudd.

Mr. and Mrs. Liner, of Seattle, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Christensen and other friends this week. Mrs. Liner was formerly Miss Geneva Spaulding of this city.

December 4, 1907

Mrs. Johnson, of Seattle, is visiting with her daughter, Mrs. A.D. Steward.

C.R. Fowler returned today from a visit with his son, Arthur Fowler, in Seattle.

Miss Lovering and Miss McConnell, of Seattle, spent the latter part of last week in this city, the guests of Dr. Margaret Baldwin.

The Misses Lulu and Jessie Nettleton, of Seattle, spent the latter part of last week with Dr. and Mrs. F. Titus.

E.H. Harbaugh, Mrs. Perrin and Mrs. Power, of Seattle, spent Sunday in this city, the guests of Homer Bean and other friends.

Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Cook returned to their home in Seattle Sunday evening, after spending several days visiting friends in this city.

Dr. Livingston was a Seattle visitor the latter part of last week and ate Thanksgiving turkey with his parents in that city. Miss Sarah Livingston, the doctor's sister returned with him and spent Sunday in this city.

Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Nudd and Jay Kingsley, who spent the latter part of last week in the city, the guests of Mr. and Mrs. M.F. Nudd, returned to their home in Seattle Sunday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. E.F. Nudd and family were passengers for Seattle Sunday, where they will spend the holidays with Mr. Nudd's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Nudd.

Mrs. Perry Hubbard went to Seattle Tuesday evening to spend Christmas with her son, Ed Hubbard and his family.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas Clark came down from Seattle Sunday afternoon and will spend the week in this city visiting Mr. Clark's brothers, Mel and Frank Clark.

Mr. and Mrs. F.E. Herthum and daughter, Miss Florence, of Seattle, spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. D.F. Davies, at their home in this city.

Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dempler, of Seattle spent Christmas with Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Dickson in this city.

Mrs. Emma Ast, of Seattle, who has been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Harrington, at their home in this city, returned home Thursday evening.

Ed Brown was down from Seattle Wednesday and Thursday. Ed is traveling for a wholesale liquor house, and has been making this territory. He infomred us, while here, that he had been transferred to the Spokane district.
