L.A. Beckwith-L.A. Beckwith, 85 years old, a former St.
Albans merchant, died Wednesday at his home at Snohomish, Wash. He
is survived by his widow and two daughters, Mrs. Walter Griffith, of
Everett, Wash., and Miss Mattie Beckwith, of Seattle.
A sister in law, Mrs. Amanda Haggerty, of Charleston
street, and several nieces and nephews in Charleston also survives.

DIED FROM INJURIES-Mrs. U.K. Loose, wife of a former assistant cashier of
the First National bank at Shelby, died in Snohomish, Wash., April
21, as the result of injuries received by being thrown from a buggy.
Her husband is the son of the Rev. Dr. and Mrs. N.H. Loose, of Upper

Old members of the Pacific Lodge will be pained to learn of the
death of George V. Blackman who died in Snohomish, Wash last week.
He was an old resident of this city but went north some years ago.

Gloria Nel Perkins (McLarney), daughter of Douglas and Nel McLarney
of Port Townsend, Washington, died peacefully in her sleep on August
24, 2007. Gloria will be fondly remembered for her quick wit, sense
of humor, positive attitude, and strong spirit. She enjoyed
reading, loved cats, wrote letters to her congressman, and always
had freshly baked cookies on hand. She and her husband, Marvin,
traveled the United States and Canada, the Orient, and Down Under.
She loved to dance, especially waltzes with her husband of 53
years. She is survived by her son, Norman and his wife, Sandy; her
daughter Kathryn; and her five grandchildren, Taylor, Robby, Andrya,
