Wellington
Woman Burned to Death
Wellington, April 30-Word has been received here that Mrs. Mary Myers, aged 86 years, formerly of this vicinity, a sister of Mrs. Ida Morrison of this place and grandmother to Mrs. Charlie Church, was burned to death at the home of her son, F.S. Myers, with whom she was making her home, at Chewelah, Washington, on April 23. Mrs. Myers escaped the burning building with her son and his wife soon after the fire broke out. Later the son noticed that she was not among the bystanders and tried to get back into the burning building but was unsuccessful. The body was found on the second floor where her room was located. It is thought that the victim forced her way back into the burning building in quest of money she had cached in her room. Mrs. Myers has many friends in Elyria and Lorain who have been looking forward to the summer when she was to pay them all a visit.
