Spokane, Monday, July 11.-Washington has a new governor Saturday afternoon. His tenure of office was for about three hours, from 2 until about 5 o'clock. Governor Roland H. Hartley attended the dedication of the $250,000 Bridge over the Pend Oreille River at Newport, Idaho.
Lieut. Governor Lon. Johnson was also at the Idaho ceremonies. J. Grant Hinkle, Secretary of State, next in line, did not assume the honor because he was at the exercises.
