Fadden, Bruce
A memorial service for Bruce Fadden of Sumas will be at 2 p.m. next Thursday at Sumas Christian Reformed Church in Sumas. Private burial was in Sumas Cemetery.
Mr. Fadden died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000, at his home. He was 77.
Mr. Fadden was born Feb. 14, 1923, to George and Margaret (Gordon) Fadden on the family farm in Sumas Prairie, B.C.
On April 21, 1950, he married Elizabeth Josephine Anderson and they operated a dairy farm near Sumas. In 1974, they sold their cows and he began working as a millwright for Elenbaas Dairy & Feed Supply, retiring in 1984.
Mr. Fadden attended Parkview Gospel Hall of Clearbrook, B.C., where he contributed in many ways to the hall.
His brother Kenneth Fadden died previously.
Survivors include his wife, of the family home sons Rodney Fadden of Sumas and Brian Fadden of Lynden daughters Merilyn Etelamaki of Marysville, Della Janzen, Donna Redekop and Judy Riemersma, all of Abbotsford, B.C., and Debbie Vinzani of Duyun, China 15 grandchildren and many other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Whatcom Hospice, 600 Birchwood Ave., Bellingham, WA 98225.

Flotre, Helga S.
Funeral services for Helga S. (Johanson) Flotre of Bellingham will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Everson, followed by burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, with the Rev. Stanley Jacobson officiating. Mrs. Flotre died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 1999, at her home. She was 98. Born Sept. 20, 1901, to John and Hilda (Haaheim) Johanson on Vesterilen Island, Norway, her family immigrated to the United States in 1907 and she had lived in Whatcom County since. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Flotre sister Clara Jakeway two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Survivors include daughters Arvella Scutvick and Ruby Linderman, both of Bellingham brother Harold Johanson of Bellingham four grandchildren six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to either Immanuel Lutheran Church, 5782 Lawrence Road, Everson, WA 98247 or Visiting Nurse, 600 E. Birchwood Ave., Bellingham, WA 98225. Arrangements are by Jones-Moles Funeral Home.
