Johnson, Clarence

Clarence Johnson passed away peacefully on May 14, 2007 in Bellingham.  He was born in Bellingham to John and Anna Johnson on March 1, 1912.  Clarence is survived by his son, Douglas; granddaughter Lisa Johnson; and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by five brother; two sister; and his wife Mona Johnson.  Clarence served in the Merchant Marines and worked for Northwest Fuel delivering fuel to homes throughout Whatcom County.  After retiring at age 62, he managed the Sons of Norway in Bellingham for over 30 years.

Jenkins, Andrew Robert

Visitation for Andrew Robert Jenkins of Lynden will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lynden, followed by a vigil service at 4 p.m.  A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, also at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Mr. Jenkins died Wednesday, Nov. 18 1998, in Lynden.  He was 19.  He was born on March 4, 1979, in Bellingham to Charles and Mary (Howell) Jenkins Jr.  He had served as an armorist in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and strongly believed in and lived the military code of honor.  Mr. Jenkins was attending Whatcom Community College and planned a career in law enforcement or undercover security.  He was employed as a security guard at Target Stores in Bellingham and Burlington.  He was a 15-year member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ferndale.  His interests included helping underprivileged children through the Angel Tree program, playing soccer with his brother, pranks, looking for harmless trouble, going to the movies or having fun with his girlfriend Jessie and friends.  He loved riding his motorcycle, hunting, shooting and the outdoors.  he loved wrestling, including his involvement with the Cub Wrestling Program at Lynden High School.  Survivors include his parents Charles and Mary Jenkins of Lynden; brothers Charles Jenkins III of Ferndale and James Jenkins and Patrick Jenkins, both of Lynden; grandparents Don and Barbara Howell of Forks and Charles and Carol Jenkins of Birch Bay; great-grandmother Clara Howell of Port Angeles; one niece and one nephew; and numerous other relatives.

Johnson, Winifred H.

A memorial service for Winifred Hazel Johnson, formerly of Whatcom County, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gillies Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dick Vriesman officiating. Her ashes will be placed in Sumas Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson died Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999, in California. She was 88.
She was born May 2, 1911, to Mary McKay and George W. Weide in Clearbrook.
Mrs. Johnson lived in Marysville for several years before moving to California. She worked as a bookkeeper in Hollywood and retired to Sunnyvale, Calif.
She was preceded in death by husband Howard Johnson and son Robert J. Johnson.
Survivors include brother Milton Weide of Mill Creek, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Johnson, Tillie H.
A graveside inurnment service for Tillie H. Johnson of Lynden will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Haynie Cemetery, with the Rev. Donald E. Walter officiating.
Mrs. Johnson died Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999, at her home. She was 85. Born April 14, 1914, near Boston, she had been a Whatcom County resident since 1945. In 1930, she married Marshall Johnson. They lived in Birch Bay before moving to Lynden in the 1970s. He died in 1980. Survivors include a sister in Arizona and many nieces, nephews and other relatives throughout the Midwest. Memorials may be made to the Whatcom County Alternative Humane Society, P.O. Box 2321, Bellingham WA 98227. Arrangements are by Moles Funeral Home of Ferndale.
