Lagerwey, Johan
Johan Lagerwey, 87, of Lynden, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2007 surrounded by his loving family at Christian Health Center. He was born November 28, 1919 in Shepard, MT to John and Adriana (deWilde) Lagerwey. Johan served in the US Army Air force during WWII and on August 20, 1946 he was married to Emma Snowden. Following retirement from LTI he spent many hours volunteering at the Project Hope office. Johan's passion for river fishing gave him great joy and pride. His spirit will always be felt along the river banks and by those who shared his company. Traveling and spending time with his grandchildren also brought him much joy. Preceded in death by his parents, one sister, four brothers, one granddaughter and one great-grandson; he is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Emma; children, Dan (Bonnie), Joan (Don) Ten Kley, Ken, Fred (Irene), Judy (Alvin) Holtrop, Rick and Leota, Jerry (Debbie), Jeff (Nola), Connie (Michael) Farihna and Cristie (Dave) Watson; 30 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three sisters and four brothers.

Lynn, Jean Helen (Barter)
Jean Helen (Barter) Lynn, age 85, of Bellingham, WA, passed away on May 21, 2007. She was born in Abbotsford, B.C., on August 26, 1921, to Hudson and Emily (Stewart) Barter. The family moved to Whatcom County in the late 1920s. Jean graduated from Mt. Baker High School and St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as an RN for Drs. McRae Smith and Donald Boettner. In 1954, Jean moved to San Francisco, where she lived for 38 years, and where she met her future husband, Wallace Lynn. She worked in a medical clinic and later as a nurse for the Social Security Admin. Jean was a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church in San Francisco. She loved to shop and to travel. She enjoyed her trips to such places as China, the Panama Canal, Europe, Alaska, and her numerous trips to the Hawaiian Islands. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. In 1992, Jean retired to Bellingham. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, brothers Lloyd and Vernon, and sister Amy. Jean is survived by niece Patricia Rosser of Bellingham and her children: Dana (Dan) Knowlton of Milwaukie, OR; Catherine Pritchett of Seattle; Celia (Carson) Fischer of Olympia; John (Suzanne) Rosser of Carlsbad, CA; and Susan Julius of Bellingham; Jean's nieces: Janice Zender and family of Bellingham, Deanna Brown and family of Deming,; Gerry Valencia and family of Port Orchard; nephews: Doug Barter and family of Maple Falls, and Dale Barter and family of Silverdale, WA. The family wants to express gratitude to the staff at St. Francis Extended Healthcare for their care and compassion.

Larsen, Alice J.
Alice J. Larsen, 89, of Ferndale, passed away peacefully at the family farm on Friday, August 10, 2007. Born March 19, 1918, in Ferndale to Swiss immigrants, Louis and Mary Burgler, Alice lived her entire married life on the farm she loved. She was a member of the Ferndale Heritage Society, St. Joseph Catholic Church, and Sons of Norway. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Paul; brothers, Louis and Joe; and sisters, Mary McCarty and Ann Coleman. She is survived by her three children: sons, Jim (Chris) Larsen of Ferndale, and Dick Larsen of Vancouver, WA; and daughter Helen (Larry) Birchall of Ferndale; grandchildren, Joe Larsen of Grandview, WA, and Steve Larsen of Ferndale; brother, Frank Burgler; and sister, Pauline Charlton. The family would like to thank Dr. Goo and staff, Visiting Angels, and the entire staff at Alderwood Park Convalescent Center.

Lambert, Raymond L.
Visitation for Raymond L. Lambert of Bellingham will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Friday
at Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday
at Nooksack Valley Baptist Church in Everson, followed by burial in Sumas
Cemetery.
Mr. Lambert died Saturday, April 15, 2000, at his home. He was 72.
Born June 21, 1927, to Reuben and Inez (Baker) Lambert in Sumas, he had been a
lifetime Whatcom County resident and grew up in Sumas.
Mr. Lambert served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On May 1, 1954, he married Wilma Gile in Lynden. She died in 1993.
Mr. Lambert worked as a mechanic and then worked in the logging industry before
becoming an ironworker for 22 years through Ironworkers Local 505 of Bellingham.
Mr. Lambert was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1585 and American
Legion, Albert J. Hamilton Post No. 7 of Bellingham.
He enjoyed camping and golf.
He was preceded in death by his brother Melvin Lambert.
Survivors include son Roy R. Lambert of Juneau, Alaska daughters Tammy Bring of
Bellingham and Gladys "Andy" Gates of Ferndale sisters Irene Weidkamp of Lynden
and Bernice Greenfield of Aloha, Ore. two grandchildren two great-grandchildren
and many other relatives.
