Noble, Helen B.

Helen B. Noble, life-long Sumas resident, died at St. Joseph Hospital on Thursday, Feb. 19. She was 77.
Visitation hours will be from 1 to 9 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Gillies Funeral Home in Lynden.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Feb. 25, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sumas Advent Christian Church, where she was a member. Burial will follow in Sumas Cemetery.
Helen was the daughter of Chancey & Josephine (Hovel) Wells and was born on March 26, 1926. She graduated from Sumas High School in 1944 and on March 19, 1948 was married to William Noble in Sumas. Helen worked for many years as a waitress at Spuds Restaurant in Sumas and also managed the Minor League Hockey BINGO Hall in Sumas.
Besides her membership at the church, Helen was also a member of the Sumas American Legion Post #212 Auxiliary and was active at the Sumas Senior Center. She enjoyed gardening, was an avid Mariners fan and enjoyed watching her sons and grandson race motorcycles.
She was preceded by her husband in 1993, a grandson Cody Noble, sister Loreen Harmon and is survived by her sons Bill Noble and companion Linda Rasmussen of Sumner and Don and wife Debbie Noble of Ferndale; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters Rowena Stapp of Steward, FL. and Josephine `Toot' Jensen of Bellingham; brothers Gerald Wells of Bellingham and Leonard `Sonny' Wells of Auburn and numerous other relatives.
