Pomona, Yakima County, Washington
"Pomona, a station on
the Northern Pacific Railway seven miles north of Yakima in Yakima
County. In 1916 Edmund T. Stevens, operator, wrote that as
passengers, freight and express intended for Selah, also known as
Wenas, were landed at this new station of Selah, he suggested as a
new name that of the Roman Goddess of Fruit Trees, which was done on
November 22, 1908."
