to }The subscribers two justices of the peace for the County aforesaid
Henry Burdick } by virtue of the authority vested in them by law have bound out
} & placed and by these presents do bind out & place as an
apprentice with the consent of his mother Nathaniel Hughes, an Orphan aged twelve
years the 22nd day of November next unto Henry Burdick -coach painter, until the said
Nathaniel shall assume to the age of twenty one years , during all which time he shall
well & truly behave, conduct & demean himself in every respect as a good & faithful
apprentice ought towards his said master, and the said master shall furnish and provide
for his said apprentice good & sufficient meat, drink, clothes, washing, lodging & other
requisite necessities during his apprenticeship to cause him to be taught to read, write &
to cast up accounts & also to teach him the art, trade or mystery of a coach painter and
where free to give him his said apprentice a suit of clothes of the value of thirty dollars or
that sum in Cash at the option of the said apprentice. In witness were of we have hereto
