There Are Now 1,204 Prisoners In The Moundsville Penitentiary.
Wheeling, Nov. 20--There are more prisoners in the Moundsville penitentiary now than at any time in its history. Captain Dawson and a corps of guards arrived Saturday with a batch of prisoners from Kanawha county, making a total of 1,204 prisoners in the pen.
One prisoner, Stewart Steele, sentenced to 8 years for shooting with intent to kill, came from New Cumberland, and the following are from Kanawha county;
John Moore, for second degree murder, fifteen years.
Eldredge Johnson, for second degree murder, ten years.
William Proctor, for second degree murder, six years.
Mike Sullivan, voluntary manslaughter, four years.
John Pence, robbery, ten years.
Charles Mitchell, grand larceny, four years.
Jack Goosman, malicious wounding, four years.
John Baker,  malicious wounding, two years.
Harry Price, housebreaking, two years.
William Jones, housebreaking, two years
William Smith, housebreaking, two years.
Robert Estep, malicious wounding, one year and three months.
Wilson Smith, indicted for malicious wounding, and convicted of unlawful wounding, one year.
