MINE AGENT STABBED
    Bramwell, W. Va., July 28-Howard R. Sanson, an emissary seeking miners for Missouri and Indian territory coalfields, was fatally stabbed last night. his assailants are unknown.

VIOLENCE IN STRIKE REGION
One Man Shot and Killed by Striking Miners at Bluefield, W. Va.
    Bluefield, W. Va., Aug. 29-There is considerable excitement at Crane Creek and Simmons Creek over the recent shootings.
John Ruble, a mine blacksmith, was shot by striking miners and killed. Reports were current during the day that a number of guards had been killed and wounded by the strikers, but investigation proves that Ruble was the only man killed. The non-union men are terrorized and a good many of them are leaving.
   
W.H. McQueal, president of the Turkey Gap Coal company, was fired at through a window, but was not hurt. [The Humeston New Era, Humeston Iowa - submitted by Shauna Williams]
