New Martinsville, December 11,--A young lady by the name of McCoy, daughter of a respectable farmer living near Middlebourne, Tyler county, on her death bed confessed to an attempted abortion, which caused her death. Suspicion immediately centered on a Dr. Devore, who is located at Middlebourne, as her accomplice, as she was see to go there two or three times. The grand jury of that county, in session there this week found an indictment against the doctor for felony, and if surface indications be tru it will be rough for him.

Mrs. Morgan Indicted.
For the Murder of Her Husband-Other Criminal News from Middlebourne.

Middlebourne, W. VA., December 13--The grand jury finished their labor for the December term of court to-day, and found three indictments, one against Mrs. Morgan, the wife of Jacob Morgan, who was murdered at his house near the Ritchie county line, in 1888. About four weeks ago warrants were issued for Charles Tabler and Jennie Egil, charged with the Morgan murder. Tabler was arrested and lodged in jail. Detective Gale tracked Jennie Egil to East Liverpool, O, and decoyed her across the river to West Virginia, arrested her and brought her back. The warrants in both cases were dismissed but were held to appear as witnesses against Mrs. Morgan, Jennie egil not being able to furnish the necessary bail was committed to jail until the next term of court. Enough information was gained from the parties above named to warrant the grand jury in finding an indictment against Mrs. Morgan, charging her with one of the most brutal and inhuman murders that was ever committed within the lines of this State. Detectives Burnett and Gale have succeeded in connecting link by link a chain of incidents that warrnts them in the belief that the guilty party has been apprehended.

H. H. Collins of Pennsboro, was arrested here to-day for carrying concealed weapons, and in default of bail was lodged in jail to await the action of the grand jury at the next term. He is a character of some note. He deserted his family about seven months ago, and since that time has following in the wake of Jennie Egil. After her arrest he followed her here, and now he languishes in jail.

Milton Underwood, charged with the killing of Abe Campbell, by blowing up A. B. Garrett's house on the 23d of May, 1888, was discharged but the investigation has opened up the matter in a new light, and it is only a question of time until the guilty parties will be brought to trial.
