Tyler
County Marriages - 1894
At A Fishing
Camp
A Tyler County Couple Married in
Style, in the Presence of a Wheeling Party.
Last Sunday
there was an unusual but pleasant event at the fishing camp of
a number of Wheeling gentlemen, at that picturesque spot known
as The Jug, on Middle Island creek. This was nothing
less than a wedding, the high contracting parties being
Mr. Israel Ferrell and Miss Sarah
Gorby, both of Tyler county. The ceremony was
performed by Rev. Mays, of Middleboro, Tyler
county, in the presence of a large assemblage of guests, among
them being Messrs. Fred Wooster, Joseph Green, Robert
Fritz and Jacob Watson, Winnie Winters, Robert Miller, K.
Kuhn and others of this city. An elaborate
dinner followed the wedding, the bride's cake being
contributed by Miss Ashcroft, of Tyler
County. [The Wheeling Register - September 20,
1894]
Sistersville Notes. The
cards are out announcing the marriage, on the 5th of next
month, of Miss Clara Wilson, the charming
daughter of Mr. A. B. Wilson, the Wells
street merchant, to Mr. John Talbot, a
prominent young gentleman of Monroe county,
Ohio. [The Wheeling Register ~ August 28,
1894] |
