Sistersville Ferry

The Sistersville Ferry which crosses the Ohio River between Sistersville, West Virginia and Fly, Ohio has been in operation since 1817. Established by the General Assembly of Virginia on Jan. 28, 1818 as an act of granting ferry franchise to John McCoy. It is one of four ferries left on the Ohio River, and the only one along the 277 mi (446 km) stretch of the river on the West Virginia border.
