Date: 1917-12-13; Paper: Wyoming State Tribune- Cheyenne State Leader Sweetwater Pioneer at Rock Springs Dies Rock Springs, Wyo. Dec 13 Alexander Dyett, well known pioneer of Sweetwater county, died at the local hospital after a two days' illness.

ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo., Feb. 15. Mrs. A. H. Nicoll met with a very serious accident on Saturday morning. She was shaking a rug over the railing over the porch at the back door of her home when her feet slipped on the ice and she fell a distance of about twelve feet, landing on her head. She lay there for nearly two hours unnoticed uniil she was able to crawl into the house. A short time afterwards a neighbor happened to call and immediately summoned medical help. Mrs. Nicoll is still in great pain although, nothing serious is anticipated.
The Junior Red Cross in connection with the schools has now a membership of 1,000.
Archie Hay arrived here on Tuesday morning on a ten day furlough from American Lake. He is looking well and fit and says he enjoys the army life immensely. Everything is comfortable and everyone has plenty to eat. He is a perfect type of the American soldier. Archie is the son of the Hon. John Hay. Although holding a good position in the Rock Springs National Bank, Archie immediately responded to his country's call and enlisted in Company J, 362nd Infantry.
The .Fraternal Order of Eagles, Rock Springs' Lodge No. 151, held a social session on Friday evening to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the order.
Many Deaths Recorded.
Settina, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pruvedel died at Lion on Monday. The little one was only 25 days old. She was buried in Mountain View cemetery. Rock Springs, on Wednesday.
Oliver Conklin, 16 years of age died at the home of his parents on Dry Creek, on Sunday. He was born in Missouri and there contracted Malaria fever. His parents brought him here in the hope that the change would prove beneficial. The .funeral took place on Tuesday from the family residence.
Mrs. Mary Dimaria, 26 years of age died at Point of Rocks on Monday The body was brought to Rock Springs the funeral took place yesterday.
John De Nikcola, an Austrian, died at the hospital on Sunday from the result of injuries received while working in the mines. The funeral took place on Wednesday from the South Catholic church.
Rawlins basketball team met the Rock Springs High school team in a basket balljgame on Friday night. The match was very fast and clean. Rawlins played a good game but Rock Springs team is going strong this season and they succeeded in scoring a victory. The result was 22 to 23.
On the invitation of Mrs. Melling, who has just been recently married, the members of the Lady Kensington of the Rebekahs met at her home on Tuerday night and spent a most enjoyable time. Mrs. Medling was presented with a handsome tray before the guests departed.
Junior Red Cross organizations have been arranged at Reliance. Gunn and Bitter Creek with an average of 100 scholars from each school. The Red Cross chapter here expects to have 16 auxiliaries.

HUNT FOR JOHNSON'S SLAYER CONTINUES Funeral Services for Murdered Rancher Are Held - Accidents Reported at Rock Springs ROCK SPRINGS, Wyo. Sept. 2.- The body of Leander Johnson, who was shot and killed by one of his sheep-herders last week, was shipped to Ogden for burial on Sunday evening. The Elks lodge of which the deceased was a member, held a funeral service and escorted the body to the depot. William McKinley, who is said to have killed Johnson, has not yet been arrested.
A serious fire occurred Wednesday night about 11 o'clock when a large barn and several outhouses were destroyed. The fire department arrived quickly but they were; greatly handicapped by the distance to tho nearest hydrant. Over a thousand feet of hose was used before the fire could be reached. Inside the building was stored about 20 tons of hay and a new Dodge truck, the property of George De Bernardi. How the fire originated is not known. The damage is roughly estimated at about $3,000. Montenegran Dies
Karisto Canovich, of Lion, died at the hospital Tnesday following an operation. Deceased was 25 years of age and was a native of Montenegro. His father and brother were killed in the recent war. The funeral took place at Lion Thursday afternoon.
A fatal accident occurred in the Green River yards Tuesday. Eli Mandich was working between two cars and somehow the danger sign had not been placed on the cars. An engine bumped against them and Mandich was crushed to death. He was 26 years of age and was a brother of Assistant Foreman Mandich of this city. The funeral took place at the cemetery here Sunday afternoon.
Saturday afternoon, Jack Lewis met with an unfortunate accident while at work in the Pacific meat market He was working the meat grinder when his right hand got caught in the machine. Two fingers were severed and the hand was badly cut.
Theo. J. Lawson died very suddenly Tuesday afternoon at the home of his mother. Mrs. L. Thomas on First street from heart failure. Deceased was 35 years of age. The remains were shipped to Denver for burial.
Store Is Robbed On Sunday night the store of the Rock Springs Dairy company on C street was entered by burglars and about $12 worth of merchandise stolen and two or three dollars in cash from the register.
Monday evening a small train wreck occurred near Blairtown, Engine was crossing over the track when the pony truck left the rails at the frog. No one was Injured but all traffic was held up for five hours.
Steve Oresto and Kmil Bortagnolli had a narrow escape from a serious accident Sunday afternoon. They were on their way to the ball game at Green River in a new Ford roadster when the car overturned. The men were thrown out of the car and were considerably bruised but not seriously injured
A fatal accident occurred in the mine at Sweetwater last Saturday evening when Louis Misura lost his life. In some manner he fell between the cars and the trip passed over him. Misura was 26 years of ago and a native of Italy. His wife is now on her way from the old country to join him in Wyoming.
